Salary Range*: $220,000 - $240,000 (E1, B12)

Facing History & Ourselves is a global education non-profit organization that challenges teachers and students to use lessons of history to stand up to racism, antisemitism, and other forms of bigotry and hate.

We are seeking a visionary, growth-oriented Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & District Earned Revenue. This newly created role is responsible for the strategic design and direct execution of our earned revenue goals. As Facing History expands our impact, this position will be re responsible for building and executing a sophisticated 3-Year District Curriculum Partnership strategy

Who You are: You are a revenue leader who will lead the charge to secure new multi-year consultancy contracts with school districts, while managing those relationships as deep, mission-aligned partnerships. Your success is measured not just by the initial contract signature, but by the district’s successful integration of our pedagogy and their ultimate decision to re-engage after the initial three-year term.

You are an experienced systems builder, as well as a strategic thinker and leader. You are skilled at navigating ambiguity while having the ability to influence, build trust, and manage complex stakeholder dynamics. You are an educator and teacher at heart who has deep knowledge of school districts, networks, and education services.

This role is ideal if you’re a systems thinker who thrives in external-facing roles. You are as comfortable diving into dashboards as you are closing deals and executing on strategic vision.

The Vice President will directly supervise the Managing Director, Growth & Engagement (and his team) and the Executive Assistant, Growth & Engagement. Regular travel throughout the US will be required.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

Business Development & Growth

  • Define, establish and lead Facing History’s strategic partnership function, developing a multi-year national strategy focused on significantly expanding the reach, growth, and revenue of the organization’s offerings, ensuring market-fit and pedagogical excellence.

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with key external partners and stakeholders (EdTech, State Agencies, Foundations) that can serve as "multipliers" to provide warm introductions to district leadership.

  • Bring strong market intelligence to this team by monitoring the K-12 landscape in order to adapt our sales approach to shifting political and educational priorities.

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Ownership of the full sales cycle for Tier 1 (large urban/suburban) school districts, including prospecting, initial discovery, and closing 6-to-7-figure multi-year contracts.

  • Build and maintain a robust, transparent sales pipeline, ensuring earned revenue targets are met or exceeded annually.

  • Expertly manage the complexities of district bureaucracy, including RFPs, sole-source justifications, and school board approvals.

  • Create and build a narrative that showcases the value of our work to school districts -, ensuring our model reflects the deep impact and systemic change in school communities.

Strategic Partnership Management

  • Expertly manage district relationships as true partnerships - act as a strategic advisor to Superintendents and Chief Academic Officers.

  • Partner with the Program team to ensure Facing History’s pedagogy becomes embedded in the district’s core identity, making our services indispensable.

  • Design and execute the "Year 3 to Year 4" transition plan, ensuring high retention rates by proving the long-term ROI of the partnership.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Deep knowledge and leadership experience in K12 district, network, or education services organization, minimum of 12+ years in this space.

  • Demonstrated success generating large district partnerships, securing multi-year engagements, and expanding a regional footprint

  • Proven track record of experience in high value sales within K12 or EdTech sector.

  • Experience navigating the polarized landscape of of modern school boards, stakeholders, and communities

  • Exhibit a profound commitment to Facing History’s mission of using history to challenge teachers and students to stand up to bigotry and hate.

  • Proven ability to cultivate trust and manage senior-level relationships within large districts and state agencies, and to navigate long-cycle stakeholder engagement.

Remote-first/Hybrid Work Model (US Home Based): Facing History & Ourselves operates in a remote-first/hybrid work model, allowing staff flexibility in both schedules and work locations. This particular position is home-based. Travel is required.
